Just arrived home from a week's vacation in Edisto Island, SC.
What a wonderful beach to visit, although a little disappointing for a surfing family (no breaks).
The island is isolated, which we prefer, and so very quaint.
They have a great Serpentarium where I tangled with a few of South Carolina's finest Gators...
"No gators were hurt during filming"
Gators handle their stress pretty well...
This little guy fell asleep when I sang "Count Your Blessings" from White Christmas to him. Yes, this really happened.
The gator feeder said he never saw anyone sing to the gators before...
Little shopping but a couple of great Art Galleries that kept my attention. But I discovered another place... CHARLESTON!!!! HATS, Galleries, HATS, history, HATS, dresses, HATS, horse drawn carriages... this place is loaded with inspiration for artists! And for you pickers out there... apparently I was there on TRASH DAY!!!! See this great upholstery that I picked right in front of a mansion on Meeting Street! My BFF and Mr. Star stood in disbelief as I rooted through the trash boxes... but thankfully I have no shame and was so tickled with my find! I can't wait to use this!
And in Charleston, it is impossible to not release your inner Southern Belle.
Welcome to my new hat... LOL... lots of fun with this southern prop...
Had some trouble managing my hat AND my surfboard...
Hard for a Southern Belle to turn down a photo shoot when wearing her new hat!
But best of all, was spending a week with my Southern Belle sister. My BFF for the last 40 years...
So... I am back... I am inspired... and I am ready to PAINT! Isn't that what vacation is for?
