Love At First Sight

She was a drop off.  One of my pickers had found her and brought her to my house immediately...
so when I pulled in my driveway that day...she was there waiting for me.
And... it was love at first sight.
She was missing four knobs, had an injury to her left front paw...
but I knew I was going to adopt her myself.
But what to do with her?  I had so many colors sitting on her while I decided.
She was going to be Nantucket for a few days... but I settled on Dede, Driftwood, and Seaspray.
What a combination that turned out to be!
Driftwood going on...

I used Driftwood on Juliet's base... and Dede for the secondary color... and Seaspray for accent on the hardware and trim.  I wet distressed the whole piece, but lightly.
Added some new knobs and Juliet is ready to serve in my dining room.

I finished Juliet off with wax for the body, but used Liquid Steel from the Coastal Colors Beach Chic Paint line for the top.  We LIVE in my house, and I need good protection for my painted pieces.  Liquid Steel offers that for sure.
I just love how the wax turns Coastal Colors paint to a deep rich color that feels like butter.
Not sure I will ever use latex on a piece of furniture again, you just can't reach this look with it.
Hope you enjoyed meeting Juliet!
